Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can couples counseling really help?
If you are both committed to work on the relationship, that is the first step. The process may be difficult at first, but if the commitment is there the process should work. I provide an environment where couples can talk and hear one another in a safe and respectful way.
2. What if my partner won't want to come to therapy with me?
While I certainly prefer to work with both parties, I have often found that a relationship could improve even if I am only seeing one partner. Through the individual counseling we can work together on exploring your relationship patterns then work towards creating a new vision for your relationship.
3. Does counseling always work?
I sure wish I could guarantee that. But it is my mission and passion to work with couples to 'find the love again' and I will certainly provide my expertise and experience to try my very best to assist you.
4. How often should we meet?
Initially, it would be best to meet once a week. If there is an especially difficult time that you are going through, we can meet more than once a week. As the relationship improves, we can meet less often.
5. Do you offer premarital counseling?
Yes, I do work with couples in all stages of their relationship including taking the step to become a married couple.
